Electric, water, and sewer utility services are city-owned and garbage is contracted, providing very reasonable rates for our residents. Current electric, water, sewer, and garbage rates can be obtained by contacting City Hall at 701.636.4620.
Recycling:
With the world around us turning GREEN, Hillsboro is ahead of several small communities by providing a voluntary, full-service recycling center. Located behind the Armory at 408 First Street Southeast, the Recycling
Center accepts the following:
• Tin/steel cans
• Glass bottles and jars
• Plastic #1 and plastic #2
• Newspapers and magazines
• Cardboard
Hillsboro also provides disposal of major appliances and yard waste at the City Shop for its residents. Please visit City Hall, located at 19 South Main Street!
